When Reviewsion imports reviews, it automatically attempts to match these reviews to the correct Shopify products. This automatic matching streamlines your review management, ensuring reviews display accurately alongside the appropriate products.
How Automatic Matching Works
Reviewsion employs two methods to match imported reviews with Shopify products:
Matching by SKU
Initially, Reviewsion searches for matching SKUs. If a product from your reviews shares unique SKUs with a Shopify product, Reviewsion automatically assigns reviews from that product to the corresponding Shopify product.
Matching by Product Title
If matching SKUs aren't available, Reviewsion then tries matching based on exact product titles. For two products to match via title, their product titles must:
Be exactly identical.
Be unique across your entire product inventory.
If neither SKU nor title matches are found, the review remains "unmatched" and can be displayed as a general store review instead.
Manual Matching of Reviews
In cases where automatic matching doesn't succeed, you can manually assign reviews to specific Shopify products:
Navigate to the Unassigned tab on the Reviews pages in Reviewsion.
Click the Manually Assign a Product button next to the review.
Locate and select the correct Shopify product in the panel that appears.
If you wish to assign all current and future reviews of that same reviewed product to this Shopify product, select the Assign to All option in the assignment panel.
Once you manually assign a review, Reviewsion remembers this association. Future reviews for the same reviewed product are automatically assigned to the selected Shopify product, saving you time and effort.
