This guide covers importing existing/legacy Shopify reviews into Reviewsion using CSV files. For collecting new reviews for products sold on Shopify, use Review Request campaigns instead.
Since reviews stored in dedicated review apps cannot be imported directly, importing Shopify reviews into Reviewsion requires the use of a CSV file.
Preparing Your CSV File
Reviewsion simplifies this process by providing an easy-to-use CSV template. You can export your existing reviews from your current Shopify review app, remove any unnecessary columns, reorder the columns to match Reviewsion's template, and upload.
This streamlined approach eliminates any manual copy-pasting.

How to Import Reviews
Once your CSV file is ready, follow these simple steps to import your reviews:
Navigate to the Reviews page for your Shopify shop within Reviewsion.
Click the Import Reviews button located at the top-right corner.
In the panel that opens, select and upload your prepared CSV file.
Click the Upload and Import Reviews button.
Reviewsion will immediately begin the import process. You can close the upload panel and continue using Reviewsion as usual; the import process will run seamlessly in the background.
Notifications and Import Report
When the import is complete, Reviewsion will send you an email notification. This notification includes an Import Report, clearly indicating any reviews that Reviewsion was unable to import along with reasons for the issue.
This helps you quickly identify and correct any issues and easily re-import if needed.
Duplicate Prevention
You can safely upload the same CSV file multiple times without worrying about duplicate reviews. Reviewsion includes an internal duplicate-detection system that ensures only unique, previously non-imported reviews are stored.
