Packing Slip QR Codes Guide

The Power of Physical-to-Digital Connection

Updated this week

Packing Slip QR Codes bridge the gap between the physical unboxing experience and digital review collection. By adding a scannable QR code to your packing slips, you give customers an instant, effortless way to leave reviews right when they're most excited – while opening their package.

Note: This feature is exclusively available on the Pro plan

Why QR Codes on Packing Slips Work

The Perfect Moment

When customers open their package, they're:

  • Excited about their purchase

  • Holding the product in their hands

  • Engaged with your brand

  • Most likely to have positive feelings

A QR code on the packing slip captures this moment perfectly.

The Numbers Speak

  • 3x higher scan rate than email click-through

  • 50% faster review submission (no email searching)

  • Mobile-first experience (70% scan with phones)

  • Zero friction – scan and review in seconds

How Packing Slip QR Codes Work

The Technical Flow

  1. Order Placed: Customer completes purchase

  2. QR Generated: Unique QR code created for this order

  3. Data Stored: QR code URL saved to order metafields

  4. Packing Slip Printed: QR code included via Liquid template

  5. Customer Scans: Opens review form on their phone

  6. Review Submitted: Instant feedback collected

What Makes Each QR Code Unique

Every QR code is:

  • Order-specific: Links to exact products purchased

  • Customer-linked: Pre-fills customer information

  • Secure: Uses unique tokens for authentication

  • Never expires: Works even months later
