What is the mini reviews carousel?
The Mini Reviews Carousel displays a small, horizontally scrolling series of customer reviews. It's designed for more compact layouts or accent sections, where a full-width block may feel too large or overwhelming.
Included in Standard and Pro. Not available on the Free plan.
Before using any Reviewsion blocks, make sure the app embed is enabled in your theme.
Go to Online Store > Themes, then click Customize.
In the left sidebar, click App embeds.
Find Reviewsion Core in the list and toggle it on.
Click Save.
How to add the mini reviews carousel block
In your Shopify Admin, go to Online Store > Themes.
Click Customize next to your active theme.
Choose the page type where you want to add the block (e.g., Product page, Homepage, etc.).
In the left sidebar, click Add Block, then select Mini Reviews Carousel.
Drag the block into position in your layout.
Click the block to open settings and configure its appearance.

Reviewsion recommends placing the Mini Reviews Carousel.
Right next to important call to actions such as an add-to-cart button
Near category descriptions on collection pages
Below smaller marketing content or promotional modules
Anywhere you want lightweight review content without taking over the layout
Product reviews vs shop reviews
This block can show reviews from either a specific product or from the shop.
If added to a product page, that product is auto-selected as the review source.
You can override this and choose a different product manually.
If no product is selected, shop-wide reviews will be displayed instead.
This allows you to display reviews from one product's page on another product's page, or anywhere else on your storefront.
How to configure
Understanding settings levels
The Mini Reviews Carousel can be configured at three levels.
Reviewsion Dashboard, Core app settings and global preferences
Theme Block Settings, Widget-specific customization (documented below)
App Embed, Global settings that apply across multiple or all blocks
Block settings
Setting | Description |
Source | Select a product to show its reviews. Remove the product to show shop-wide reviews. On a product page, that product is selected automatically. |
Show product photos when no review photos are available | Off by default. When on, a review without customer-uploaded photos or video shows a photo of the product it is matched to. Works only with shop-wide reviews, when Source is empty, and only while Show images is on. |
Dark | Toggle to enable dark mode. |
Light background color | Set the block's background color in light mode. Shows while Dark is off. |
Dark background color | Set the block's background color in dark mode. Shows while Dark is on. |
Margin top | Adjust the top margin of the block (in pixels). |
Margin bottom | Adjust the bottom margin of the block (in pixels). |
Padding top & bottom | Adjust the vertical padding of the section (in pixels). |
Section padding sides | Adjust the horizontal padding of the section (in pixels). |
Max number of reviews | Set the maximum number of reviews to display in the carousel (up to 15). |
Show images | Toggle to display review media such as photos. |
Use image natural aspect ratio | Off by default, and Reviewsion crops photos to a fixed size that fills their space. When on, photos keep their natural proportions, scaled to fit the thumbnail. Appears only while Show images is on. |
Show stars | Toggle to show the star rating. |
